Clubhouse News

  • We have some outings in October, that will have the course closed for part of the day during each outing.
  • Saturday October 14th, the first tee will be closed until 2:00pm.
  • Saturday October 28th, the first tee will be closed from 11:40am until 4:40pm.
  • Superintendent’s Revenge is Saturday October 14th
  • Frost Delays: Please be advised that there may be frost delays starting soon as the temperatures drop overnight; the golf course maintenance staff will let us know when the course is playable. There is no set time for a frost delay; the temperature has to get to a certain temperature for the frost to go away. During a frost delay the putting greens and warmup cages are closed, just like the golf course due to the frost. Thank you for your cooperation.
  • Starting October 1st, tee times will begin at 7:30am on weekdays and at 7:00am on weekends (times will change with changes in sunrise and sunset times).

Superintendent’s Corner

Over the course of the past few weeks, we have aerated all tees and fairways. We over seeded and top dressed them also.

Two driving range cages have been installed at the practice area. Please hit only from the mats provided.

We will continue to work on improving the drainage on 1 fairway in the coming weeks. As you know, it’s a notoriously wet area. This season’s rainfall has not helped matters. While it’s far better than it’s been in the past, there is definitely room for improvement, and we’re on it.

Thank you.

Superintendent’s Corner

We have placed some stakes and ropes on certain greens with high traffic walk on/off areas. These are there to divert foot traffic that causes compaction and turf stress. Please remember if you take a stake down to hit a shot, please place it back in the ground afterwards.

On an add needed basis, we spike and topdress our greens. This is to help alleviate compaction, turf stress, and turf imperfections. It’s a far less invasive form of aeration, that has little to no effect on the green playability, while at the same time is extremely beneficial to turf quality.

Thank you.

Superintendent’s Corner

We are continuing to overseed and topdress fairway areas that were damaged from last years drought. Please do your best to avoid driving through these areas as they continue to grow in.

Also, please remember to pick up broken tees from the teeing area as they can cause damage to the tee mower reels.

– Please apply bug spray and sunscreen while standing on paths or paved surfaces only. Both bug spray and sunblock sprays kill turf grass. Do not

apply while standing on any turf areas.

– Often times you will see us watering during play. For the most part, it’s to cool down the surface temperature of the turf. High surface temperature damage turf, and if not cooled down can cause turf damage or turf death. Deeper and more intense irrigation is done late at night and very early in the A.M.

– Please place bunker rakes in the bunkers after you have raked the bunkers.

– Please repair ball marks. Not only are ball marks unsightly and bumpy, they also create turf stress and damage which can promote turf disease.

Your help in these matters will help us in maintaining your golf course, and we greatly appreciate it!

Thank you.
